We receive many questions about our name, and yes, there is some history behind it. "Hollett & Sons" started as Susan's Great Grandparents' company in Burin, Newfoundland, where Susan grew up. Starting in the late 1800s, Hollett & Sons imported and exported fish and dried goods on an international scale, operating a fleet of schooners as well as several stores in both Burin and St. Lawrence.

When, a hundred years later, Susan was in search of a name for her business, she wanted a name that would incorporate her name, her two sons, a sense of permanence, and a name that would give her a corporate identity… Et Voila! Hollett and Sons Inc. was born again.
